I did it! I defrizzed Doll hair!

I can not hardly believe it myself, but it happened. I successfully was able to defrizz my daughters American Girl doll! I used a tutorial for "synthetic wigs", that

Jeez Louise used 

for her own wigs. I figured, why not try it on the doll!? Here is a "BEFORE" picture of her doll. 

I wish I had a complete picture of the "before" doll, but I honestly did not expect it to work so I didn't think to take pictures till I was half way done with her.

and here she is "After" her trip to the Mommy salon.

TO say I am pleased is an understatement. This experiment went very well.

Jeez Louise is a GENIUS!!!!!

Since the site is VOID now, I will try to explain myself what to do.
Before you get started you will need the following items: 

· A wig brush

· Water spray bottle

· Hair detangler

· Flat iron (She said a Curling iron can work too)

· Scissors (to trim ends if needed)

Step 1: Separate the hair in sections about 2 inches thick. In sections, brush out with a wig brush the hair starting from bottom to top. (I got my brush at Sally Beauty Supply, if you do not have one)

Start with 1 section and pin back the rest away from the others. You will do each of the following steps PER 2 inch section of hair.

Step 2: Spray hair with water in a bottle, being careful not to get the "scalp" wet. 

Step 3: Spray hair detangler in hair and work through with fingers, and then brush through with wig brush. 

Step 4: Turn straightening iron on the lowest setting and let warm up. 

Step 5: Take the iron, and work from top to bottom in pre-divided sections.

NOTE: During straightening, I trimmed any extreme frizzes or uneven ends to give a more finished look. This process took approx. 1.5-2 hours total time. Also, it is not recommended to use this method more than twice on your doll.
